State-owned power utility Eskom says its newly established Group Investigations and Security department is in the final stages of completing an investigation into alleged irregularities relating to the procurement of diesel and storage contracts. The investigation remains subject to internal governance, legal and assurance processes, the utility states.

The Shoprite group’s Centurion distribution centre (DC) has achieved a Level 2 Zero Waste to Landfill certification from the Green Building Council of South Africa. The Centurion centre is the largest DC in the retail giant’s network, and spans more than 173 500 m2.
